The oldest race in the Formula One racing calendar, the race held at Silverstone in 1950 was round 1 in the first championship season in 1950. Today, the F1 British Grand Prix held at Silverstone is one of the most eagerly anticipated races in the F1 calendar.

Held at the prestigious and iconic Silverstone Circuit located in the village of Silverstone, Northamptonshire, England, the circuit is a firm favorite amongst keen racing fans from all over the globe.

The F1 British Grand Prix 2023 takes place over the weekend of July 7 – 9, with the race itself taking place Sunday, July 9th. Consisting of 52 laps, with a race length of 190.263 miles (306.198 km) and a circuit length of 3.66 miles (5.891 km), the F1 British Grand Prix is not as long as some of the other races in the F1 calendar, but don’t let that fool you, it’s every bit as grueling.

F1 British GP Information, Analysis

F1 British Grand Prix Prediction Course Details

If there’s one thing the Brits love to talk about, it’s the weather, and for any F1 Grand Prix event, the weather will always be a focal point.

At any F1 British Grand Prix event, regardless of the time of year, the weather will always be a factor and a worry.

As the race takes place in the summer, you would expect warm and sunny weather. The problem is that the UK’s weather is very changeable.

On average, temperatures should sit between 19c and 24c. As far as the weather itself goes, providing there are no freak heatwaves like the UK saw in 2022, you can expect warm sunny spells and decent cloud coverage. Of course, there is always the risk of showers or more persistent rain, though that is less likely.

F1 British GP Odds to Win — Who to Watch

The Brits will, of course, be ones to watch at the F1 British Grand Prix 2023, though there may be a few surprises along the way.

Lewis Hamilton Odds

As Lewis Hamilton is chasing his 8th championship win, which would make him a record-breaker with the most wins in F1 history, that, combined with his past track record (pardon the pun) at this event, means that he has to be one to watch.

2022 saw Lewis post his worst season for years and his worst for Mercedes, but he is still a very capable driver, though he will be looking to finish better than he did when he placed 3rd at the 2022 F1 British Grand Prix.

George Russell Prediction

Another Mercedes driver who is worth keeping an eye on at the 2023 British GP is George Russell.

George Russell solidified himself as a top 3 contender in 2022 and could soon replace Lewis Hamilton as Mercedes’ number 1 driver.

At just 24 years of age, many believe he is yet to peak, and considering he was forced to retire from the event last year after a collision, he’ll certainly be looking for a podium finish.

Russell is also a fan favorite and will have the home advantage, so he’ll have momentum on his side.

Carlos Sainz Jr. Odds

Spaniard Carlos Sainz Jnr of Ferrari is another driver we’ll be keeping a close on at Silverstone, and for a good reason.

Carlos had an impressive season in 2022 and will be looking to improve upon this in 2023. Add to that, the fact that he won the F1 British Grand Prix in 2022, and you, of course, can’t count him out.

Carlos may be overshadowed by his Ferrari teammate Charles LeClerc, but you should never count out the young Spaniard.

F1 Schedule – Next Race

Once this race is over, there is nothing left to do but prepare for the next one. And what a race it is! Right after the British GP, comes the F1 Hungary Grand Prix, a circuit that always offers a good show.

Prediction for F1 British Grand Prix in 2023

Of course, Max Verstappen will be a favorite in 2023, as he looked so impressive in 2022, but even so, you may be surprised to learn that we don’t have him in our top 3.

For 1st place, we’re going with Carlos Sainz Jnr once again. He proved he had what it took to win the “big one,” as it were, and we’re tipping him once more.

In 2nd place, we’re going with George Russell. Russell looks to be coming to his peak, he’s slowly but surely creeping up on his Mercedes teammate Lewis Hamilton, and he’ll have the momentum on his side with the crowd behind him.

In 3rd place, we’ve gone with Charles LeClerc of Ferrari. LeClerc looks to be Verstappen’s main threat for the title, and he’s going to want to keep putting the pressure on Max whenever possible.

As for Constructors at the F1 British Grand Prix, we’re going with Ferrari for the win, though it will certainly be a battle with Mercedes, especially if Lewis Hamilton performs like we all know he is capable of performing.
