UK Rugby
UK Rugby Short Description
While rugby might have been born in the UK, it has long played second fiddle to football. One explanation for this is rugby’s slow development. The English RFU, for its part, didn’t sanction formal competition until 1987. And World Rugby didn’t open the sport to professionalization until 1995.
Nonetheless, rugby continues to be a popular sport in England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland, with each country being responsible for producing many of the sport’s top stars.
