The Premier League is a competition that leaves little opportunity for teams to sleep. If they fail from the get-go, they can be out of luck, even with many games ahead of them. Yet, there are seasons where it is easier to deduce which clubs will do what and which will win this or that match. But then there are others where predictions are difficult to make because teams in all or some sections of the table are competing at a similar level. In this match, we will have Manchester United vs Nottingham fighting from the trenches to take home the points.
Old Trafford Will Host Manchester United vs Nottingham
Manchester United Have Not Found It So Easy to Be at the Top of the Table
Manchester United is far from the glory that has characterized the club throughout history. For some time now, the club has encountered more stumbles and mistakes than triumphs, despite still being a great club that sets big goals and strives to achieve them. So with Manchester United vs Nottingham coming up, they should be prepared.
Their start to the season could have been more bright. The first five games were two defeats and two wins, leaving a point balance that would have given the club hope of succeeding this season. Then, by their tenth matchday, their last three games were a loss, a win, and a draw, respectively.
The defeat was against Manchester City. It was a close encounter, but the rival was notably superior, beating them 3-6 in a hard blow to United. On this occasion the protagonists for City were Phil Foden and Erling Haaland, who each scored three goals. For United, Antony and Anthony Martial (x2) scored.
The victory was against Everton, with an insignificant difference on the scoreboard. The rival took an early lead, with a goal in the 5th minute by Alex Iwobi. But Antony returned with a goal in the 15th minute, and Cristiano Ronaldo in the 44th minute brought another goal to the Red Devils.
And the draw of the 10th matchday would be against Newcastle, a club that has shown that it has what it takes to compete this season. A fairly even match, the scoreboard ended up showing this reality.
The Red Devils know they are playing at home in this Manchester United vs Nottingham. They also know they are superior, even if they are not at their best. They can strive and keep the three points that would help them enormously to achieve their goals in the Premier League.
Nottingham Forest Has Not Had a Warm Welcome to the Premier League Season
So far this season, victories have been hard to come by for Nottingham. As of their tenth matchday, they had only managed one win and two draws against seven defeats. This held them at the bottom of the table without much chance of getting into the competition.
Their last three matches were a defeat against Leicester City, who managed to take four goals, (two by James Maddison, one by Harvey Barnes and another by Patson Daka). There was no chance for Nottingham to reverse this result.
The next was a draw against Aston Villa, one of their best results this season. That alone leaves a lot to be said. Here Ashley Young scored for the rival, and Emmanuel Dennis for Nottingham, who opened the scoring in the 15th minute.
And the last one, on the tenth matchday, was a defeat against the Wolves, who are struggling to escape from the relegation places. In the 56th minute of this match, Ruben Neves scored a penalty that would be the only goal of the match and enough to anchor Nottingham to the bottom of the table.
In a game like Manchester United vs Nottingham, there is not much the Forest team can do against the Red Devils other than try to contain a game that could be a revenge match.
