Falcons vs. Ravens 12/24/22 NFL Betting Tips: The Season So Far
Falcons
Falcons fans won’t be too pleased with how things have gone this year, with the only real highlight being the incredibly versatile Avery William, who has shone while playing for the defense, offense, and special teams.
But on the scale of the wider team, there’s a general worry that versatility is exactly what the side – and most especially the offense – is missing. Worryingly, there has been an ever-increasing reliance on the run, which the team often executes well but will need to rapidly improve its passing game if the playoff dream is not to slip away.
NFC South has hardly thrown up the toughest competition this year. Still, the predictability of the offense and the frustrating performances in defense mean the Falcons’ odds for the playoffs are not looking as convincing as they perhaps should at this point of the season. Indeed, it’s only because of the similarly poor performances of their Southern counterparts that the dream isn’t over.
The calls for rookie QB Desmond Ridder to start have been getting louder and louder as fans desperately await the team to start playing some passing football to mingle with the running obsession. Starter Marcus Mariota has been consistently mediocre at best, and many in Atlanta think it’s about time to roll the dice if the playoffs are to be reached.
Their current 5-8 record needs to start limping towards .500 ASAP, and the defense needs to start recording sacks. Otherwise, the Falcons’ management will soon have to deal with some exceedingly grumpy fans.
Ravens
Things are looking a lot more positive for Baltimore, whose overall record currently stands at an impressive 9-4. Of course, fans can’t get enough of Lamar Jackson, who can’t stop creating highlights out of thin air thanks to his outstanding running ability.
But just as impressive is the Ravens’ run block win rate, which has been one of the team’s strong suits for years and has now reached its peak as the best in the league.
Unfortunately, just as everything was starting to look too good to be true, Lamar Jackson went off injured in the narrow 10-9 victory over the Broncos. The side will have to adapt quickly to life without him if they want to keep up their top form while he’s on the doctor’s table.
