After making way for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, the 2023 F1 Qatar Grand Prix makes a return for the second-ever edition of this race.

Initially serving as a stand-in for the 2021 F1 Australia Grand Prix (which was first postponed, then finally canceled due to Covid), the 2023 F1 Qatar Grand Prix is making a permanent comeback on a 10-year contract.

As for what we can expect in the 2023 F1 Qatar GP predictions for this year’s edition, there’s little question about who’s the hot favorite to win. Dominating just about every race this season, Max Verstappen is almost a guaranteed shoo-in for first place.

With that said, F1 racing can always defy the odds. From crashes to mechanicals, and even just some bad luck, there’s always something just waiting to throw a spanner in the works, even for the best.

So let’s take a closer look at all the latest betting picks, tips, and predictions for the 2023 Qatar GP.

2023 F1 Qatar GP Information, Analysis

F1 Qatar Grand Prix Prediction Losail International Circuit Course Details

While the Qatar F1 Grand Prix is a relatively recent addition to the F1 calendar, the course itself has a bit of history behind it.

First opened in 2004 as a bike racing circuit, the Losail International Circuit has already played host to multiple international motor racing events, including the Moto GP and the WorldSBK.

However, with a 10-year contract to fulfill, Losail has had a few renovations ahead of the 2023 F1 Qatar Grand Prix. Notably, the venue capacity has been upgraded to handle almost seven times its original capacity, from just 8,000 to 52,000.

Naturally, as a bike-oriented circuit, the Losail track features plenty of flowing, medium-to-high speed corners. There are also plenty of long straightaways, including a 1km+ main straight heading into turn 1. There are also a couple of elevation changes to keep things interesting for the drivers.

As for the 2023 F1 Qatar Grand Prix predictions for the weather, expect warm conditions. Located just North of Doha, average temps around this time of year suggest we should see something in the region of 28 degrees Celsius come race time.

As is usual, the race itself will be held over a total length of just over 300km (308.826 km, to be precise, or 191.895 miles). That will see drivers completing 57 laps of the 5.418 km (3.367 miles) long Losail International Circuit.

2023 F1 Qatar Grand Prix Odds to Win — Who to Watch

When the last edition of the F1 Qatar Grand Prix was held back in 2021, both pole position, and the final victory were taken by Mercedes’s Lewis Hamilton. Following him in the final standings, we then saw this year’s favorite, Max Verstappen, crossing the finish line a touch under 26 seconds back, and Fernando Alonso coming in third, almost a minute behind.

Of course, things are looking a little different for the 2023 F1 Qatar Grand Prix predictions. Lewis Hamilton, while still performing well, is nowhere near his 2021 form. And the young Verstappen, while already being unquestionably great in 2021 (he just beat out Hamilton for the 2021 Driver’s Championship), has stepped up to a whole other level this year.

Max Verstappen Odds

Racing for Red Bull, Max Verstappen is the clear favorite to win. What more needs to be said? How about a fun fact? Max holds the record for the fastest lap around Losail International Circuit, setting a 1:23.196 time back in 2021.

Sergio Perez Betting Tips

Finishing the majority of his races on the podium, Max’s Red Bull teammate Sergio Perez has been having a solid season so far. Expect him to carry these odds into the 2023 F1 Qatar Grand Prix.

Lewis Hamilton Prediction

While his handful of 2nd and 3rd place finishes this season aren’t terribly notable, Lewis Hamilton’s consistency this season is. His worst result this season was an 8th at Austria, meaning he’s finished nearly every race dangerously close to the podium.

Lando Norris Win Probability

Lando’s 2023 season got off to a pretty rough start, with three 17th place finishes in the first five races. However, since his 4th place in Austria, followed by two podiums in Great Britain and Hungary, his consistency has improved.

Prediction F1 Qatar Grand Prix 2023

The prediction for the F1 Qatar Grand Prix 2023 is as follows:

  • Max Verstappen: Again, what more needs to be said? Young Max will very likely dominate once again.
  • Sergio Perez: A one-two for Red Bull looks like it’s on the cards, with Sergio looking like a serious contender for the 2023 F1 Qatar Grand Prix podium.
  • Lewis Hamilton: Lewis Hamilton’s consistency mean he’s a constant threat for the podium. Just don’t expect him to win.

With Max and Sergio predicted to finish first and second, Red Bull is the clear favorite for the constructors. After this, Mercedes is looking like a not too distant second, followed by Ferrari.
