F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Prediction and Odds 2023

On November 2, 2023, the final race in the Formula One calendar will take place at the Yas Marina Circuit when the F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix comes to town.

Compared to some other races on the Formula One calendar, Abu Dhabi is still a relatively young race. First announced in 2007, the first race wasn’t held until just over 10 years ago, in November 2009.

Since then, the race has largely been dominated by the once formidable Lewis Hamilton, who won the race five times between 2011 and 2019. However, in recent years, the young Max Verstappen has unseated the former champ, winning the race consecutively in 2020, 2021, and 2022.

Unsurprisingly, the top constructors at the F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix mirror the top drivers, with Mercedes and Red Bull tied on six wins a piece.

So will 2023 see Verstappen’s winning streak at Abu Dhabi broken? And will we see Mercedes or Red Bull edge the other one out to become the top constructor?

Let’s take a look to see what we can expect in this 2023 F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix prediction.

F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Stats Yas Marina Circuit Course Details

The 2023 F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix will be held at the Yas Marina Circuit, located on the outskirts of Abu Dhabi.

Right from the outset, the track has been a polarizing one. Some drivers have praised it for the variety the track provides, while others have been critical, highlighting issues such as a dangerous exit from the under-track pit lane and a lack of overtaking opportunities.

This lack of overtaking opportunities makes qualifying in or near poll positions vital. This importance on starting position is further exacerbated by the exceptionally low wear the smooth track places on tires, meaning there are generally fewer pit stops in Abu Dhabi compared to other races.

With that said, the race isn’t entirely devoid of overtaking opportunities, with the track featuring two long straights. There are also some opportunities for drivers who are willing to get aggressive with the braking at the expense of stress on the braking system.

2023 F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Odds to Win — Who to Watch

With Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen having won the last five F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix races, these two will definitely be two to watch.

We should probably also point out that, while Hamilton hasn’t won in three years, he has finished on the podium in all but one of these races. The only one he didn’t finish on the podium (2022) was down to a technical fault.

Carlos Sainz Odds

Carlos Sainz has performed well in previous Abu Dhabi Grand Prix races, including a podium in 2021 and a near miss (fourth place) in 2022.

Lewis Hamilton Betting Tips

There’s no questioning Hamilton’s track record here. He’s got the most wins and, when not winning, the most consecutive podiums.

Max Verstappen Prediction

No sane “who to watch” list in 2023 would be complete without a mention of Max Verstappen. The man’s unstoppable and, save for some unexpected catastrophe, you should expect him to perform well at the 2023 F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. We do.

Charles Leclerc Win Probability

Charles LeClerc managed a second-place finish here in 2022, just eight and a bit seconds shy of Verstappen. We expect to see him snapping at Verstappen’s heels again in 2023.

Prediction F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2023

The prediction for the F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2023 is as follows:

  • Max Verstappen: Do we really need to explain this one?
  • Charles LeClerc: LeClerc started the season strongly — he looks like he might finish it strongly, too.
  • Lewis Hamilton: Given his history, the odds are Hamilton’s going to make the podium. We just don’t think he’s going to do it in first or second place.

For the constructors, this one’s a toss-up, with a lot riding on how the cars and drivers perform in qualifying. Still, Red Bull, Ferrari, and Mercedes are the main ones to watch.
