F1 Italy Grand Prix Prediction and Odds, Monza 2024

Please note, this prediction is now outdated and will be updated for 2025 shortly. For a list of all up-to-date picks and tips for upcoming races, visit our F1 Grand Prix Predictions.

Known by the locals as Gran Premio d’Italia, the F1 Italian Grand Prix boasts a storied history as the fifth oldest national Grand Prix globally. The race has been a constant fixture on the motor racing calendar since 1921, following the establishment of the French Grand Prix, the United States Grand Prix, the Spanish Grand Prix, and the Russian Grand Prix.

The 2024 F1 Italian Grand Prix edition promises to be a true nail-biter that’s set to take place at the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza, or just Monza.

Previous winners at the track include household names, like Michael Schumacher of Germany, who has graced the winner’s podium a total of five times. This performance has only been equaled by Lewis Hamilton, who, at the 2024 F1 Italian Grand Prix, will no doubt be looking to steal the all-time record and secure a sixth win.

As to whether he can actually pull it off, that will depend on a whole bunch of things going his way. Let’s take a closer look at this 2024 F1 Italian Grand Prix prediction.

F1 Italian GP Information and Analysis

F1 Italian Grand Prix Prediction Course Details

As we’ve already mentioned, the F1 Italy GP will take place at Monza. The race itself will cover 53 laps which, with a lap distance of 5.793-kilometre, will come out to a total distance of just over 300km.

But while this is standard fare for F1, expect the race to be a relatively quick one. Monza is often referred to as the “Temple of Speed” as it is one of the fastest circuits on the F1 calendar. With a combination of long straights and only a few chicanes, drivers can reach speeds of over 350 km/h, making for thrilling, high-speed racing.

With that said, with the race taking place in September, increasing rainfall in the region means there is always the risk of rain to slow things down. Given clear skies, the temperature should be up in the low-to-mid twenties.

F1 Italian Grand Prix Odds to Win — Who to Watch

In the last three years, the winners at Monza were Max Verstappen for Red Bull (2023, and 2022), and Daniel Ricciardo for McLaren (2021). Each of these drivers will be competing in the 2024 edition.

Of course, past winners don’t mean much when it comes to predicting this race. After all, the last time Daniel Ricciardo stood on an F1 podium was when he won this race in 2021. Since then, he’s slipped back down the pack, rarely finishing even near the podium places, although he seems to be doing a little better this year than last.

Verstappen, on the other hand, has only gone from strength to strength, meaning he’ll be a serious contender at F1 Monza 2024, including multiple driver’s Championships and a nearly flawless record of winning race after race.

But who else will be duking it out for the top spots? Let’s take a look.

Max Verstappen Prediction

After dominating in 2022 and 2023, it’s no surprise to see Verstappen doing the same in 2024. The F1 Italy GP 2024 will probably be yet another predictable entry in the Max Verstappen story, meaning other drivers will have their work cut out for them.

Charles LeClerc Odds

After qualifying for poll position, Charles LeClerc only just missed out on a first-place finish at the 2022 F1 Italy GP, finishing just 2.446 behind Verstappen. He then narrowly missed out on the podium with a 4th place finish in 2023, so he clearly has what it takes to deliver results at Monza in 2024.

Lando Norris Prediction

Lando Norris has been flying high this season, with more podium finishes under his belt than just about any driver aside from Verstappen. He’s even one of the few drivers to have taken a first-place finish, which he took in Miami. With that said, he hasn’t been on the podium at Monza since his 2021 2nd place — can he break the dry spell in 2024?

Carlos Sainz Odds

Carlos Sainz just missed the podium in the 2022 Monza GP, finishing five seconds after race winner Verstappen for a fourth-placed finish. In 2023, he went one better and took third place. The question is, can he continue this trajectory into 2024?

F1 Schedule – Next Race

Once the F1 Italian Grand Prix is over, there is nothing left to do but prepare for another one. Next up on the race calendar is the F1 Azerbaijan GP which will be held at Baku.

Prediction for F1 Italy Grand Prix 2024

The prediction for F1 Italian Grand Prix 2024 is as follows:

  • 1st Place — Max Verstappen: After a win at Monza in 2022 and 2023, and the dominance he and the Red Bull team have shown this year, any driver wanting to take first place at the F1 Italy Grand Prix 2024 is going to have a hard time beating Max.
  • 2nd Place — Charles LeClerc: While he might have recently lost his title as the only real threat to Verstappen after Norris overtook him in the Driver’s Championship, LeClerc has still been holding his own. We have no doubt he’ll be up to the task again this year.
  • 3rd Place — Lando Norris: Lando Norris has already shown he has what it takes to make the podium at Monza. And, with his 2024 season looking like his best yet, we won’t be surprised to see him featuring on the podium at the 2024 F1 Italian Grand Prix.
