F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Prediction and Odds 2024
On December 8, 2024, the final race in the Formula One calendar will take place at the Yas Marina Circuit when the F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix comes to town.
Compared to some other races on the Formula One calendar, Abu Dhabi is still a relatively young race. First announced in 2007, the first race wasn’t held until just on 15 years ago, in November 2009.
Since then, the race has largely been dominated by the once formidable Lewis Hamilton, who won the race five times between 2011 and 2019. However, in recent years, the young Max Verstappen has unseated the former champ, winning the race consecutively in 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023. But with recent issues over his performance, it’s unsure whether 2024 will see him finally equal Hamilton’s record.
So will 2024 see Verstappen’s winning streak at Abu Dhabi broken? Let’s take a look to see what we can expect in this 2024 F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix prediction.
2024 F1 Abu Dhabi GP Information & Analysis
F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Prediction Yas Marina Circuit Course Details
The 2024 F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix will be held at the Yas Marina Circuit, located on the outskirts of Abu Dhabi.
Right from the outset, the track has been a polarizing one. Some drivers have praised it for the variety the track provides, while others have been critical, highlighting issues such as a dangerous exit from the under-track pit lane and a lack of overtaking opportunities.
This lack of overtaking opportunities makes qualifying in or near poll positions vital. This importance on starting position is further exacerbated by the exceptionally low wear the smooth track places on tires, meaning there are generally fewer pit stops in Abu Dhabi compared to other races.
With that said, the race isn’t entirely devoid of overtaking opportunities, with the track featuring two long straights. There are also some opportunities for drivers who are willing to get aggressive with the braking at the expense of stress on the braking system.
2024 F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Odds to Win — Who to Watch
While Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen have won the last five F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix races, these two are probably no longer the ones to watch. Although, with that said, neither should be ruled out completely. Especially Verstappen.
Carlos Sainz Odds
Carlos Sainz has performed well in previous Abu Dhabi Grand Prix races, including a podium in 2021 and a near miss (fourth place) in 2022, although he DNF’d last year, and hasn’t had the hottest season this year.
Lando Norris Betting Tips
Lando Norris has proven he’s a serious contender in any race he enters and has established himself with a respectable hold on the top end of the Driver’s Championship. We’ll be keeping a close eye on him at Abu Dhabi.
Max Verstappen Prediction
No sane “who to watch” list in 2024 would be complete without a mention of Max Verstappen. While the once unstoppable man’s finally been shown to be far from perfect, you should still expect him to perform well at the 2024 F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. We do.
Charles Leclerc Win Probability
Charles LeClerc managed a second-place finish here in 2022, just eight and a bit seconds shy of Verstappen. He backed this up with another second in 2023, although he was a little further back, finishing 18 seconds off the pace. We expect to see him performing similarly in 2024.

The prediction for the F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2024 is as follows:
-
1st Place — Lando Norris: Lando has proven himself to be a serious threat this year, and has put up some respectable performances on this track in the past. While it’s not a sure pick, we give him great odds to take first place.
-
2nd Place — Charles LeClerc: Leclerc has already shown he has what it takes to compete in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, and with the season he’s been having we expect to see the same world-class performances once again.
-
3rd Place — Max Verstappen: While he’s no longer the king he once was, it’s hard to ignore the fact that Verstappen won the last four editions of this race. He’ll be keen to make that five, but that may just be five podiums instead.
