The LaLiga season started spectacularly, and we are still surprised to see how teams are dethroning each other. Clubs that had not performed well for a long time are close to the top of the table, fighting to climb higher and higher. This shows how hard it is to predict top positions and relegations; history changes and paints an entirely different picture. On Matchday #16, Almeria vs Real Sociedad will provide us with an exciting match between two teams that are struggling in the competition.

Almeria Greets the First Division with the Conviction to Stay
About to reach the halfway point of the competition, Almeria is making a first-class debut. The ability to sustain their hopes of permanence match after match, no matter how difficult it is and how much they have to fight for it, is to be admired.
Indeed, only a few teams achieve it. Usually, when a team gets promoted, the beginnings are fatal, and relegation soon follows. However, as of their tenth matchday, they had accumulated six defeats, one draw, and three wins. And while this is not an excellent record for a LaLiga team, it has been enough to sustain them in the competition, alongside teams that have been living in the elite of Spanish soccer for several seasons.
As such, even if Almeria has not had the perfect season, it has been much better than most. However, a tough match is coming up in Almeria vs Real Sociedad.
As for their track record, their 7th, 8th, and 9th matchdays were a win, a loss, and a victory, respectively. Against Rayo Vallecano, they would take the victory with a 3-1 score. In this game, the goal scorers were Lucas Robertone at minute 8, Srdan Babic at minute 17, and El Bilal Touré at minute 39. The lone Rayista goal would come almost at the end of the match, at minute 81.
On the other hand, against Betis, who started winning at minute 23, William Carvalho scored the first goal, El Bilal Touré scored at minute 52 for Almería, but two more goals for the Verderones followed, at minute 66 by Borja Iglesias and at minute 71.
In the match against Girona, which ended 3-2, Almeria scored all their goals in the first half, feeling that victory was comfortably in their favor. And these goals came quickly, with Léo Baptistao scoring at 13 minutes, El Bilal Touré at the 17th, and Adrián Enbarba at 38 minutes. Then, in the 47th minute, Rodrigo Riquelme scored, and finally, in the 83rd minute, Christian Stuani scored from the penalty spot to give Girona the lead.
These matches have all contributed to giving Almeria a reasonably comfortable position within LaLiga this season. But they should look to grab some more points in the Almeria vs Real Sociedad match to move to a safer position.
Real Sociedad Is Going for Broke This Season
Real Sociedad is a charming surprise packet this season. And, as long as the team keeps giving us great soccer played with a burning passion, we will be happy to see them grow and succeed. Not many would have bet on a good performance by Real Sociedad this season, but they are doing great.
Up to match day #10, they had seven wins, one draw and two losses. Their last three games up to that point were all wins. Against Villarreal, they finished 1-0 with a goal by Brais Méndez. Against Celta de Vigo it was 2-1, with goals by Asier Illarramendi at minute 30 and Igor Zubeldia at 54, while Iago Aspas scored for Celtic at 39 minutes. And finally, against Mallorca, it was a 1-0 victory, with the only goal coming off the foot of Mikel Merino.
No doubt, Real Sociedad will be playing Almería vs Real Sociedad intending to come out on top.
