The 2024 F1 US Grand Prix, held annually at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas since 2012, has a rich history that dates back to 1908. Of course, at that time, it wasn’t the F1 Grand Prix — it was then known as the American Grand Prize.

As of 2023, this storied race has taken place 52 times under the F1 banner, making it the longest-running Formula One Grand Prix event in the United States.

As for what we can expect at the 2024 F1 US Grand Prix, Max Verstappen’s spectacular form and three consecutive wins (2021, 2022, and 2023) makes it look like he’ll be hard to beat.

Of course, no discussion about the F1 US Grand Prix would ever be complete without at least mentioning Lewis Hamilton. Even if his prospects in 2024 aren’t so great, he does hold the record for the most wins at this event.

With that said, F1 is nothing if not unpredictable, and anything could happen that could drastically alter the outcome of the race. And, despite previous dominance shown by Hamilton and Verstappen, there will be plenty of other drivers champing at the bit to get on the podium.

The Circuit of the Americas (COTA) in Austin, Texas, is a masterpiece of modern track engineering, purpose-built for Formula One racing.

The circuit features a blend of high-speed straights and intricate corners, making it a true test of a driver’s skill and a car’s capabilities. Notably, the track contains a steep climb towards Turn 1, offering drivers a unique challenge right at the beginning of each lap. The circuit also has a medium downforce level and requires 66 gear changes per lap, making it quite technical.

The race itself will take place over a total of 56x 5.513km-long laps for a total race length of just over 308km.

Typical weather at this time of the year in Austin should mean the race will be held in moderately warm and dry conditions, with temperatures averaging in the high twenties (celsius).

2024 F1 US Grand Prix Odds to Win — Who to Watch

When it comes to fastest laps around the Circuit of the Americas, that record belongs to Charles Leclerc who pulled off a 1:36.169 lap in 2019. But that speed only translated into a fourth place, which he then backed up with another fourth in 2021 and a third-place finish in 2022.

As for recent winners, over the last couple of years, the F1 US Grand Prix has been dominated by Verstappen with back-to-back-to-back wins here in 2021, 2022, and 2023.

Positions 2, 3, and 4 have also been remarkably consistent. In 2021, it was Verstappen, Hamilton, Perez, and Leclerc. Then, in 2022, it was almost the same results, save for Leclerc and Perez exchanging third and fourth place. Finally, in 2023, it was the same two names in first and second, followed by Lando Norris in third.

Lewis Hamilton Odds

Hamilton holds the record for the most wins at Austin. He’s also finished in second place with the same consistency that Verstappen has been winning here over the last few years. And, even if he’s not having the season of his career in 2024, he does seem to be picking up some serious steam as the season progresses.

Max Verstappen Betting Tips

There’s really not much to add here. Max has dominated this race for years, and the entire 2024 F1 Grand Prix season. We expect nothing to change for the 2024 F1 US Grand Prix.

Charles Leclerc Prediction

LeClerc holds the lap record here, and nabbed a third-placed podium finish here in 2022. While he hasn’t had a perfect season this year, he’s still managed a few podium finishes and will no doubt be looking to add another.

Lando Norris Win Probability

Lando finished up third here last year, and he’s been having the season of his career this year. With this sort of trajectory, don’t be surprised to see Norris at least making the podium this year.

Prediction for F1 US Grand Prix 2024

The prediction for the F1 US Grand Prix 2024 is as follows:

• 1st Place — Max Verstappen: After winning for the last three years straight, and the dominance he and the Red Bull team have shown this year, any driver wanting to take first place here will have their work cut out for them.

• 2nd Place — Lando Norris: Lando Norris has already shown he has what it takes to make the podium here. And, with his 2024 season looking like his best yet, we won’t be surprised to see him featuring on the podium at the 2024 F1 Italy Grand Prix.

• 3rd Place — Lewis Hamilton: Lewis has been a consistent performer at the F1 USA Grand Prix, and with his 2024 season seeming to take a turn for the better, there’s a good chance we’ll be seeing him on the podium once again this year.

For the constructors, we expect to see Red Bull, Mercedes, and then Ferarri in terms of ranking.
