If you’re a fan of the F1 Belgian Grand Prix, 2024 looks to be a year you can’t afford to miss.

Taking place over the weekend of 26 – 28 July in Spa, with the race itself being held on Sunday, July 28th, the F1 Belgian Grand Prix will be an exhilarating event from start to finish and will almost certainly be one heck of a battle.

The F1 Belgian Grand Prix was first held in 1925 and, since 2007, has taken place at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, often simply referred to as ‘Spa’ for short. Spa is renowned for its unpredictable weather and has seen more wet Grand Prix events than anywhere else in history.

The driver who has enjoyed the most success here is Michael Schumacher, with 6 wins, while Ferrari is the constructor with the most victories here by a long shot, with an impressive 18 wins.

F1 Belgian GP Information, Analysis

F1 Belgian Grand Prix Prediction Course Details

The F1 Belgian Grand Prix course is just 44 laps around the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, with a race length of 191.398 miles (302.052 km) and a circuit length of 4.352 miles (7.004 km).

The Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps has a notorious history as a fast and dangerous circuit that has claimed the lives of multiple drivers over its history. However, over the years, the track has been modified, safety has been improved, and today it is a big favorite among F1 drivers.

Weather

The weather of any Grand Prix is always a focal point, though, at the F1 Belgian Grand Prix, this is especially apparent.

At one point, it rained for 20 consecutive years at the F1 Belgian Grand Prix, as the weather in Spa can be, shall we say, temperamental.

As far as temperatures go, as it is the height of summer, you can expect temperatures to range between 22c and 26c on average. There will likely be a light breeze, plenty of clouds, and sunny spells.

While we expect it to stay dry, there is always a higher risk of a shower than with many other Grand Prix races, so don’t be shocked to see the wet tires make an appearance.

F1 Belgian Grand Prix Odds to Win — Who to Watch

While Max Verstappen is always worth watching when he’s in this kind of form, in Belgium, there are drivers other than the current World Champion worth keeping your eyes on.

Here’s who we’re keeping a close eye on.

Carlos Sainz Jnr Odds

Carlos Sainz Jnr took pole position at the 2022 F1 Belgian Grand Prix, with a time of 1:44.297, although he was slightly slower in 2023 with a qualifying lap time of 1:47.152, landing him in fourth.

The Spanish Ferrari ace placed 3rd here in 2022 while finishing fifth overall for the season, but he had an unfortunate DNF last year in what was a very mixed season, though when he performed well, boy, did he perform well!

Carlos may be Ferrari’s number 2 driver, but he is still capable of great things on the race track, so keep an eye on him in Spa.

Charles LeClerc Prediction

Another Ferrari driver you should definitely watch at the 2024 F1 Belgian Grand Prix is Charles LeClerc.

Charles is currently second only to Verstappen this season, sitting comfortably in 2nd place overall. And while he probably has no real chance of toppling Verstappen, he’ll be looking to close the gap as much as possible.

The young man from Monaco is widely tipped for a future World Championship and is considered to be the only real threat to Max Verstappen. So expect some heated battles between the two drivers in 2024.

Sergio Perez Odds

Sergio Perez has been almost as valuable to Red Bull as Max Verstappen and considering he finished in 2nd place here in Belgium in 2022 and 2023, there’s no reason to think 2024 will be any different.

Ferrari and Red Bull Prediction

As far as Constructors go, Ferrari and Red Bull will both put on quite the show.

If LeClerc and Sainz Jnr perform well, it will be a real battle between the two Ferrari drivers and Verstappen and Perez of Red Bull.

F1 Schedule – Next Race

Once this race is over, there is nothing left to do but prepare for the next one. And what a race it is! Right after the Belgian GP, comes the F1 Dutch Grand Prix, a circuit that always offers a good show.

Prediction for F1 Belgian Grand Prix in 2024

So, who do we think will perform at the F1 Belgian Grand Prix 2024? Here are our picks.

  • 1st place — Max Verstappen: Max looked unstoppable in 2022 and 2023, and that doesn’t seem to be changing in 2024. No surprise he’s our #1 pick.
  • 2nd place — Charles LeClerc: Charles is getting better and better, and if anyone has a shot of taking the title from Verstappen, it’s him. He knows this and will be out to pick up every point he can.
  • 3rd place — Sergio Perez: Despite Max Verstappen being the talk of Red Bull, Sergio was extremely consistent in 2022 and 2023 and, aside from some misfortune, has been performing equally as well this year.

As for constructors at the F1 Belgian Grand Prix 2024, despite Ferrari being a threat thanks to LeClerc and Carlos Sainz Jnr, we’re going with Red Bull.
