West Ham v. Manchester City Odds & Predictions
West Ham v. Manchester City
Sunday’s matchup of West Ham v. Manchester City promises to be more interesting than usual. For one, we will witness the official EPL start of highly-rated (some dare say overrated) former Borussia Dortmund striker, Erling Haaland. But the Man Coty side gave a relatively lackluster performance against Liverpool last week, in the Community Shield.
Nathan Ake was once again impressive against Liverpool and is a likely starter. Haaland, Riyad Mahrez and Jack Grealish are like starters as well on the offensive side.
The Pep Guardiola Dilemma
Guardiola likely knows 10 of his 11 starters. The final question mark will be whether to line up Grealish or replace him by Foden, with Foden being instrumental against Liverpool last week. Grealish was a successful scorer at West Ham last season though, which could have an impact as well.
But Foden is the more likely starter this weekend as he is known for his quick impact plays, which can make a difference at any time during the game.
Kickoff is at London Stadium at 16:30 London time (17:30 CST). CXSports’ prediction: 3-1 in favor of Manchester City.
