Titans vs. Jaguars Prediction and Odds
Two teams chasing winning records currently sit with exactly the same records at the moment and will be hoping to finish the regular season on a high in the upcoming Titans vs. Jaguars 01/08/23 game.
Titans vs. Jaguars Prediction and Odds
This is a very distinct rivalry that isn’t necessarily known as well to football fans further north but is a highly respected matchup within the AFC South.
These two sides first started playing against each other in 1995 when the Titans (known at the time as the Oilers) beat the Jaguars 10-3. Despite being a newer team, the side has managed to maintain the upper hand in the series, currently leading the all-time score 34-22.
Titans vs. Jaguars Odds and Statistics
The biggest moment in this rivalry and the match that elevated the series to rivalry status came in the 1999-2000 preseason when both sides had been playing great football all year. The Titans had a record of 13-3 and the Jaguars one of 14-2, highlighting just how much they’d been dominating the competition. Despite having a slightly worse record, the Titans won 34-22 after being behind at halftime and continued on to the Super Bowl, where they lost to the St. Louis Rams.
The largest win in this matchup goes in the Jaguars’ favor, as they won 37-7 against a weak Titans side in 2006. They also won the last time the sides matched up, winning 36-22 as recently as December this season. Can they take home another victory from the Titans vs. Jaguars 01/08/23 matchup?
Titans vs. Jaguars NFL Betting Tips: The Season So Far
Titans
Things have really gone off the rails for Tennessee in the last few weeks. Having a healthy winning record until a four-game losing streak undermined all the confidence that was built up earlier in the season.
They could’ve had the division wrapped up by now, but now they have a real battle on their hands when they could still be in charge of their own destiny had they not taken their eye off the ball so drastically.
Their offense especially seems to have gone off the boil, but it’s not clear whether it’s due to fatigue or because opposing defenses have worked them out. Up until around week 12, people were discussing how far the Titans could go in the postseason, but now there’s little expectation of Tennessee finding much joy in the playoffs.
This stretch of poor form is the worst that they’ve had under coach Mike Vrabel and rapidly rediscovering something closer to their best isn’t only important to make sure they can hold on to the top spot in the AFC South but also make sure that they have some confidence and momentum going into the playoffs.
If they can pull out something spectacular at the very end of the regular season, then players and fans will start to believe again, and that confidence makes a big difference when we get to the business end of the season.
Jaguars
The Jaguars haven’t had a better season overall but are certainly in a better patch of form than the Titans – but then again, almost all teams are. But there’s something building in Jacksonville. A sense of belief and pride has crept in over the last few weeks, and they now look like a team who wouldn’t be out of place putting up a good fight in the postseason.
Prediction For Titans vs. Jaguars 01/08/23
The Titans need a win here, but they just can’t seem to find one for the life of them, and we think Jacksonville will capitalize on their momentum.
