Texans vs. Titans 12/24/22 Prediction and Odds
Christmas eve is serving up one of football’s hottest local rivalries in the Texans vs. Titans 12/24/22 game. The two southern sides approach the game in two very different forms, with the Texans hoping for just their second win of the season while the Titans fight to hold onto a positive overall record.
Texans vs. Titans 12/24/22 Preview Games and History
This is one of the hottest modern rivalries in the league, with the Tennessee Titans, formerly based in Houston, not taking lightly to the Texans now playing in their spot.
They first played each other in 2002, with the Titans winning 17-10. The Texans would have to wait until the 5th game in the series before they got their first win. Even after that, things stayed rough — of the first 13 games in the Series, the Texans only won 2.
Unfortunately, this record isn’t looking like it’s about to change in Texans vs. Titans 12/24/22, with the Texans not exactly shining right now.
Texans vs. Titans 12/24/22 Odds and Statistics
Things aren’t quite as bad for the Texans now, but they still have some catching up to do in the overall series, which the Titans currently lead 23-18. Impressively though, the Texans still lead overall on points scored at 974-877. This is thanks to a couple of dominant victories that Houston won’t forget soon.
The sides have already met twice in 2022, with the Titans edging both games, which has only served to compound Texas’s misery this year.
Texans vs. Titans 12/24/22 NFL Betting Tips: The Season So Far
Texans
It’s hard to say much more than “yikes”. Unfortunately, the Texans’ season is going a lot worse than even the lukewarm hopes that the season started with.
Their record of 1-11-1 this season is the flat-out worse in the league this season, with little respite even being found in the relatively poor competition in the AFC South.
Their options at QB are so abysmal that Houston can draw a positive, knowing that this is almost definitely the area of the team that will get to improve most next season after their likely first pick in the draft. Accusations have even started arising that the side has now begun tanking deliberately so that they can hold onto that draft spot.
Titans
The Titans are in a far better position to make the most of the low standards down south. Their attacking arsenal has plenty of variety, thanks to stars like Derrick Henry and Julio Jones.
The side has struggled to improve on the abysmal defensive form they showed for most of last season, with most defensive categories showing the Titans down there with the league’s worst.
But the side’s positive record this season – they currently sit at 7-6 – shows just how good they are the other way.
Clearly, the talent limits how well any section of a team can play, but when things are going as badly at the back as they are for the Titans, it feels like some more refined management should at least be able to raise their game slightly and leave less of the burden on the offense.
Fans were excited to see Bud Depree’s talent on display at the beginning of the season but an excruciatingly slow recovery from his knee injury means they’re still waiting to see him perform. However, if he can be brought into the fold soon, then the Titans may be able to tie up that positive record this season for good.
