Dennis Allen’s first year as head coach has been a disappointment, even allowing for a transition phase. The drop-off in some areas of the team has unquestionably been greater than many fans hoped for.

A strong finish to the season may at least be enough to increase optimism in time for the 2023 season, but the 5-9 record at the moment is hard enough for many fans to stomach already.

There are no two ways about it. The Eagles are the best side in football. Jalen Hurts is absolutely thriving as QB for a massively versatile forward line, and the defense looks like a brick wall to even the most talented of opposition.

The only slight gripe could be with the special team, but that’s been more an issue of inconsistency rather than a lack of quality.

There’s elite quality wherever you look on the pitch, and arguably, the only reason that Hurts isn’t already being considered a shoo-in for MVP is that he has to share the limelight with so many other in-form stars.
