Ghana-born Qatar international Mohammed Muntari recently defended his choice to represent the colors of the nation of Qatar (over his birth country of Ghana) during the 2022 finals, which will be Qatar’s first-ever appearance at the World Cup.
The 28-year-old, who moved to Qatar during his younger career is picking up Qatari citizenship in the process. “Truth be told, I will choose Qatar [if I have the chance to choose all over again]. I will choose Qatar every single day [because of] what they did for me [and] what they are doing for my people,” said Muntari in a recent interview.
