Lions vs. Panthers 12/24/22 Prediction and Odds
This big matchup at the Bank of America stadium on Christmas eve will be a nail-biting Lions vs. Panthers 12/24/22 showdown between two teams with rather similar records so far this season.
Lions vs. Panthers 12/24/22 Preview Games and History
These two sides first played against one another in 1999 when the Lions confidently beat the Panthers 24-9. The Panthers didn’t have any plans on getting used to that feeling of losing and are now the dominant team in the matchup. To date, the overall record is going strongly in their favor, 7-3-0. They also lead on total points scored with 237 to the Lions’ 187.
Lions vs. Panthers 12/24/22 Odds and Statistics
These two sides have never met in the postseason and only come up against one another in the regular season. Regular season matchups only come around every two years or so.
The Panthers confidently won the last game 20-0 in 2020, and Lions fans will be desperate for their side to at least get on the scoresheet and preferably compete for victory.
Lions vs. Panthers 12/24/22 NFL Betting Tips: The Season So Far
Lions
The Lions’ performances have relied heavily on its offense which competes with some of the best in the league when they’re in the right mood. Jamaal Williams and D’Andre Swift particularly deserve credit for scaring defenses each week, proving themselves to be the key cogs in what often proves to be a highly efficient attacking machine.
This team is really coming into form as Christmas approaches, too, as the defense starts to take on some of the responsibility rather than allowing the offense to carry Detroit all game. It’s beginning to look like this side’s ability is more than a flash in the pan and could be indicative of the talent available in the long term.
Fans may be stuck wondering if things could’ve been wrapped up by now had that now seemingly unexplainably poor start to the season been avoided. It’d be a shock in this vein of form if Detroit’s 6-7 record didn’t turn positive very soon, and that could mean a spot in the postseason if other bumps aren’t hit in the road. Their schedule for the end of the season looks more than manageable and could help the Lions to just keep building their confidence.
The fact that the side is in the running for the NFC playoffs at all after starting the season with a 1-6 record is the turnaround story of the season, and the positive traits they’ve been showing in recent weeks look more deeply embedded than their negative attributes did a few months ago.
Panthers
The Panthers’ season is only going slightly more slowly, with a record of 5-8 at the moment, but they aren’t in the same rich vein of form that the Lions currently are (although the same is true of almost all teams).
Carolina’s running game appears to be finding its stride and D’Onta Foreman’s rushing ability deserves credit for his role in that.
The ceiling is likely to remain fairly low until a replacement quarterback can be found, with P.J. Walker unlikely to inspire many fans in the meantime. Many will just be glad that the side has moved on from Baker Mayfield though.
