The 2024 F1 Singapore Grand Prix is scheduled to be decided this September 22 at the Marina Bay Street Circuit, where it has been held since 2008 when the F1 made its return to Singapore.
Famous for being the first Formula 1 Grand Prix night race, the F1 Singapore GP is known for its challenging track and frequent wet conditions owing to the Singaporean climate.
One other unusual fact about this race is that it’s one of the only races that hasn’t seen a Verstappen podium, despite his absolute dominance everywhere else. In fact, it was the only race in which he didn’t podium last year, meaning the big question for 2024 is whether the reigning champ can finally replicate his success from literally everywhere else on this circuit.
As for the constructors, Ferrari, Red Bull, and Mercedes each have four wins at the F1 Singapore Grand Prix. However, one of Ferrari’s wins was in 1970, prior to the construction of the Marina Bay Street Circuit.
Let’s take a closer look at what we can expect in this year’s edition of the 2024 F1 Singapore Grand Prix.
2024 F1 Singapore GP Marina Bay Street Circuit Information and Analysis
Singapore F1 Prediction Marina Bay Track Details
The Marina Bay track in Singapore is one of the most challenging, unforgiving circuits on the F1 calendar, characterized by exceptionally bumpy sections, tight corners, and high and harsh curbs that can damage the car. In short, this is a track requiring massive physical and mental endurance from the drivers.Â
This is further complicated by the hot, humid Singaporean climate. Being close to the equator (just 130km north of it, or about 80 miles), Singapore often experiences high humidity. And while September is far from the wettest month, seasonal averages still suggest a 40% chance of rainfall at any given time.
This climate was on full show in the 2022 edition, which was delayed by an hour due to extreme wet weather conditions. The race then unfolded on a wet but drying track, although it was interrupted multiple times by the safety car. The 2023 edition was less dramatic, with predominantly clear conditions prevailing throughout practice, qualifying, and the race itself.
F1 Singapore Grand Prix Odds to Win — Who to Watch
Here are a few of the drivers to keep an eye on in the 2024 F1 Singapore Grand Prix.
Max Verstappen
The absolute domination that Max and the Red Bull team have shown this year makes him a hot favorite everywhere he races. With that said, Singapore marks the only race at which he failed to podium last year, leaving a big question mark hanging over his head for this one.
Sergio Perez
Sergio Perez is currently suffering in the 2024 GP season rankings, and there’s no doubt that having a giant cloud hanging over his future is messing with his head. With that said, until his season took a turn for the worst after Monaco just a few months ago, he clearly had what it took to make the podium.
Lando Norris
Finishing fourth in 2022, and then in second place last year, Lando Norris has proven he can deliver a strong result at the Marina Bay track. Now combine that with his strong performance overall this year (his strongest yet), and you have all the ingredients for a Norris podium at the 2024 Singapore GP.

Prediction F1 Singapore Grand Prix 2024
The prediction for the F1 Singapore Grand Prix 2024 is:
-
1st Place — Max Verstappen: While he’s previously performed fairly poorly here, Verstappen’s overall performance suggests this is little more than a glitch in the matrix — we expect him to finally deliver the results we expect this year.
-
2nd Place — Land Norris: Lando has performed well in the past at the Singapore F1 Grand Prix, and his strong 2024 season makes us confident he’ll do well here.
-
3rd Place — Sergio Perez: Despite his struggles this year, Sergio is still the same driver he was when he started off the season. If he can get his head straight and get back to doing what he does best, expect to see him of the podium at the 2024 F1 Singapore GP.
For constructors, it’s hard to go past Red Bull as the absolute favorite to take the 2024 F1 Singapore Grand Prix with Verstappen and Perez likely to make the podium. But, if another team is going to do it, we’re looking towards McLaren Mercedes or Ferrari as the favorites.
