F1 Saudi Arabia Grand Prix 2023

In just its third year, the F1 Saudi Arabia 2023 event is one of the most hotly anticipated Formula 1 events of the 2023 season.

Being held in Jeddah, the 2023 F1 Saudi Arabia Grand Prix will be the second Grand Prix event of the season, taking place on March 17–19. In addition, this eagerly anticipated street circuit is also rumored to be a night race, which will really ramp up the excitement and anticipation.

The 27-turn Jeddah Corniche Circuit, located right next to the Red Sea, will host the event for the third time in its history. It is the fastest street circuit of its kind, and F1 cars have hit speeds of more than 160mph here. It is also the second-longest track in Formula One, second only to the Spa-Francorchamps.

For street circuit fans, this race is one you won’t want to miss. Last year, Max Verstappen secured first, with Charles LeClerc in second and Carlos Sainz Jnr in 3rd.

But what can fans expect next year? Well, let’s take a look.

Saudi Arabian Grand Prix 2023: Driver Predictions and Course Details

F1 Saudi Arabia Racing Conditions

The F1 Saudi Arabia 2023 Grand Prix will most likely take place at night. This means that the extreme heat from the sun will not be a factor during the event. In fact, it will be chilly, with the chance of temperatures slipping below 20C.

As the circuit is located next to the sea, there is also a chance of coastal winds being a factor, though extreme winds at that time of year are unlikely. The risk of rain is also extremely low, though, of course, it’s not out of the question.

In all likelihood, conditions will be dry, slightly breezy, and averaging around 20C.

Who to Watch

While the great thing about F1 is that you never know what is going to happen, there are always some drivers and constructors you would likely be safe putting your money on. These are some of those names.

Max Verstappen

Max Verstappen won the 2021 season controversially. In 2022 however, he won emphatically. This means the young Red Bull driver will be going into the 2023 season full of confidence and ready to make a point.

Max also won here in 2022, so he will be looking to repeat history and get his 2023 season off to a winning start.

Charles LeClerc

Charles LeClerc may be a young driver, but he is one of the most confident street racers in all of Formula One.

The young driver for Ferrari finished in 2nd place last year at the F1 Saudi Arabia Grand Prix, just behind Verstappen. However, he will certainly be looking to make a bigger splash in 2023 and show he means business.

Sergio Perez

Sergio Perez of Red Bull is another driver who has shown himself to be incredibly capable on street racing circuits and thrives in these conditions. And, considering he looked so impressive in 2022, you have to believe he has a shot here.

Lewis Hamilton

Hamilton may have finished 10th last season in Jeddah, but you can’t count this legend out.

Hamilton is still chasing that elusive 8th Drivers’ Championship and is looking to make history. Plus, he is also considered a competent street racer.

Hamilton will be looking to rack up the points for himself and Mercedes nice and early, so he will likely be fired up for this event, despite it being so early on in the season.

Predictions for the F1 Saudi Arabia Grand Prix

Despite Lewis Hamilton being such a capable street racer and his overall pedigree, we’re predicting a 5th-place finish for him in Jeddah.

In 2nd place, we’re going with Sergio Perez, which means that Max Verstappen is our pick for the number one spot at the 2023 F1 Saudi Arabia Grand Prix.

Arguably, Max is not even in his prime yet, even as he comes off the best season of his life in 2022. So in 2023, he’s going to be full of confidence and set to do great things.

Needless to say, as far as Constructors go, Red Bull Racing look like the team to beat, though Carlos Sainz Jnr and Ferrari will certainly have something to say about that.
