2024 F1 Miami GP Information, Analysis

Taking place for just the third time ever, the 2024 F1 Miami GP will go down at the Miami International Autodrome, a temporary circuit on the grounds of the Hard Rock Stadium.

This circuit was designed and constructed by F1 track designers Apex Circuit Desiglt specifically for this event and consists of 57 laps, a total length of 191.585 miles (308.326 km), and a circuit length of 3.363 miles (5.412 km). Average speeds hover around the 230kph (140mph) mark.

The F1 Miami Grand Prix track proved to be a real hit with racing fans, as did the first two races, in which Max Verstappen of Red Bull was the victor. Can Max Verstappen repeat history and secure a hattrick at the F1 Miami Grand Prix again, or will Ferrari’s Charles LeClerc have something to say about it?

F1 Miami Grand Prix Prediction Course Details

As with any F1 Grand Prix, one essential factor to take into consideration is the weather.

The weather of any F1 event can greatly affect the outcome, so what can we expect in Miami on May 5 for the Miami Grand Prix? Will the Sunshine State indeed provide plenty of sunshine, or will Mother Nature throw a spanner in the works? Well, of course, conditions are uncertain until closer to the time, but we can take an educated guess.

Miami in May, and indeed, much of the year, is warm and sunny. You can therefore put good money on blue skies and hot sunshine being present during qualifying and the race itself. Temperatures will be very warm, likely reaching the high 20s and low 30s. Expect temps of between 24 degrees C and 32 degrees C.

There is, however, always the possibility of rain, particularly from thunderstorms, which can strike (pardon the pun) at any time in Miami. It can also potentially get breezy, though winds shouldn’t be strong enough to be a real factor.

F1 Miami Grand Prix Odds to Win — Who to Watch

One of the best things about the F1 Miami Grand Prix is the fact that, as the race is so new, we don’t know for certain which drivers are likely to perform better here.

Of course, some names in F1 are always worth watching, especially when they’re in form, so here’s who we’re keeping an eye on in Miami this year.

Max Verstappen Odds

Expect to see Max’s name continue to pop up a lot for a while now that the youngster has made his mark as one of the hottest names in F1.

Max has won both the 2022 and 2023 editions of the F1 Miami Grand Prix, making him the only driver to have ever won here, and Red Bull, the only Constructor to have ever won here. Max also set the fastest lap in 2022, with a time of 1.31.361 on lap 54.

Carlos Sainz Jr. Prediction

Son of the legendary Carlos Sainz Snr, Carlos Sainz Jr signed a contract extension with Ferrari that will keep him with the team until at least the end of this season. He’ll be looking to prove his worth and help Ferrari uproot Red Bull at the top of the mountain.

In the 2022 F1 Miami Grand Prix, Carlos finished in 3rd place. This was followed by a respectable 5th place in 2023. He will have his sights set on another podium this time around.

Charles LeClerc Odds

Many are predicting that Max Verstappen will secure his 3rd F1 Miami Grand Prix this year. However, if there is one man who can prevent this, it’s Ferrari’s Charles LeClerc.

LeClerc looked very strong in 2022, slipped down the rankings a little in 2023, but then came back, snapping at Verstappen’s heels this year. He and Verstappen are quickly forging a sporting rivalry for the ages.

In 2022, Leclerc secured Pole Position, and finished in 2nd place. Last year he finished a disappointing 7th, so you better believe he’ll be aiming for a win in Florida this time around.

Prediction for F1 Miami Grand Prix 2024

The prediction for the F1 Miami Grand Prix 2024 is as follows:

  • Max Verstappen: While he hasn’t had a flawless season so far, it’s still clear that Max is undisputed king of F1 right now, so expect to see him on the podium — probably in 1st.
  • Charles LeClerc: Charles has impressed a lot of people at Ferrari as he goes about giving Verstappen a real run for his money. Based on his performance, his momentum, and how he did in 2022, we’re going with a LeClerc for a second-place finish at the F1 Miami Grand Prix 2024.
  • Carlos Sainz Jr: while in 3rd, we’re going with Carlos Sainz Jr. He’s performed reasonably well in Miami in the past, securing a 5th last year and a 3rd in 2022 — a performance we expect him to repeat at the 2024 Miami GP.

As far as constructors go, it will almost certainly be a battle between Red Bull and Ferrari, though we’re going with Red Bull Verstappen’s teammate, Sergio Perez, also has a shot at finishing strongly. After that, expect to see Ferrari and then Mercedes.
