With so many Formula One drivers now driving better than ever and more eyes on the sport than ever before, the 2023 F1 season looks set to be the most exciting in recent memory.

For years, Mercedes legend Lewis Hamilton dominated the sport, but recently a young driver for Red Bull by the name of Max Verstappen has stepped up and looks set to be a real force to be reckoned with for years to come.

At the 2023 F1 Austria Grand Prix, all eyes will be on Max and fellow Red Bull racer Sergio Perez, as the Austrian Grand Prix will take place the weekend of June 30 – July 2 at the Red Bull Ring circuit in Spielberg, Austria.

Held 41 times thus far, with the first race taking place in 1963, the F1 Austria Grand Prix has seen numerous legends of the sport enjoy great success here, including Alain Prost and Jo Siffert, who have both won this race 3 times, as has Max Verstappen. Ferrari is the constructor who has enjoyed the most wins here, clocking up an impressive 7 wins thus far.

The Red Bull Ring consists of 71 laps, is 190.420 miles (306.452 km) long, and has a circuit length of 2.683 miles (4.318 km).

So, what can we expect from the F1 Austria Grand Prix in 2023?

F1 Austria GP Information, Analysis

Formula 1 Austria Grand Prix Course Details

With any F1 event, regardless of what time of year it takes place, the weather is always going to be a factor, and sometimes a deciding factor, regarding the outcome of the race. The F1 Austria Grand Prix is no exception.

The weather in Austria in early July is typically pleasant. While heatwaves, hot sunshine, and clear blue skies are unlikely, it usually stays largely dry, pleasantly warm, and cloudy with sunny intervals. Rain is, of course, always a possibility.

As far as temperatures go, you can expect temperatures between 22c and 25c on average, though it could even be a touch warmer. Wind shouldn’t be much of a factor during the summer, either.

F1 Austria Grand Prix Odds to Win — Who to Watch

Plenty of drivers are in with a real shot of winning the 2023 F1 Austria Grand Prix, but who do we think is especially worth keeping your eyes on?

Max Verstappen Odds

Yes, we know, Max’s name is always mentioned in these posts, but considering the form he’s in and how impressively he won the title in 2022, it’s hardly surprising.

Max Verstappen came 2nd in the 2022 F1 Austria Grand Prix, and he could become the first driver to win this event 4 times, so you better believe he’ll be out to impress. Of course, there’s also the Red Bull connection to consider, so he’s certainly worth watching.

Sergio Perez Prediction

Another member of Red Bull Racing well worth keeping an eye on in Austria is Sergio Perez.

Sergio has been in great form in 2022 and has had some real battles with Ferrari’s Charles LeClerc, with the two battling it out for 2nd place in the overall standings.

In 2022, after a collision with Mercedes’ George Russell, Perez was forced to retire from the race. He should be extra driven (bad pun alert), and extra motivated in 2023, so expect a good performance from the Mexican.

Charles LeClerc Odds

Widely considered the future of F1, Ferrari’s Charles LeClerc continues to get better and better with each race he takes part in.

Charles picked up the win at the 2022 F1 Austria Grand Prix, which is even more impressive considering the pressure Verstappen was placing him under, as well as the fact that his car was dealing with mechanical issues.

LeClerc has to be considered a huge contender for the title next year, making him and Ferrari real threats to the rest of the pack.

Red Bull Racing Prediction

With both Perez and Verstappen predicted to perform so well in 2023, that, combined with the fact that the F1 Austria GP will take place at the Red Bull Ring, means that Red Bull Racing is the constructor to keep an eye on.

F1 Schedule – Next Race

Once this race is over, there is nothing left to do but prepare for the next one. And what a race it is! Right after the Austrian GP, comes the F1 British Grand Prix, a circuit that always offers a good show.

Prediction F1 Austria Grand Prix 2023

So, what can we expect from the F1 Austria Grand Prix in 2023? Well, the smart money would be on the following:

For first place, we’re going with Max Verstappen. Despite LeClerc likely piling on the pressure and drivers such as Hamilton and Russell in the mix, Max has looked so dominant these last several months and will also be chasing his 4th win here in Austria.

For 2nd place, we’re picking Charles LeClerc. As awesome as the youngster is for Ferrari, we don’t think history can repeat itself again, so in 2023, he’ll have to settle for second.

In 3rd, despite all eyes being on Sergio Perez, we’re going with George Russell of Mercedes. George continues to improve at a rapid pace and has the fans behind him. He finished in 4th place last year and will be looking for a podium this time around.

As for constructors at the 2023 F1 Austria Grand Prix, we’re going with Red Bull. If Max does secure the win and Perez can put himself in the mix for the top 3, this should be enough to secure the constructor win for Red Bull at the aptly named Red Bull Ring.
