Cowboys vs. Titans 12/29/22 Prediction and Odds
The Cowboys vs. Titans 12/29/22 matchup at Nissan Stadium arrives as the year draws to a close, with the Cowboys looking to cement their spot in the postseason in particular.
Cowboys vs. Titans 12/29/22 Preview Games and History
These sides play each other rarely, but the history goes back a long way, and the fixture has produced some tense, close games as well as some thumpings each way.
They first played against one another in 1970 when the Cowboys absolutely trounced the Oilers (as the Titans were called at the time) 52-10 on home turf. Dallas would win 4 of the first 5 games in the series, with the Oilers scraping through with a 30-24 win for their first victory in the fixture in 1979.
Despite the initial dominance by Dallas, the Titans have since clawed back relative parity in the series and are on the edge of drawing level with the Cowboys only leading the series by 1 victory currently, with the series sitting at 8-7. So for the Cowboys vs. Titans 12/29/22 fixture, Tennessee could draw level for only the second time ever.
They’d have to win by a big margin to catch up with the total points scored in the series, though, which the Cowboys currently lead 347-282. There have been some huge wins in this fixture before, though, so anything’s possible!
Cowboys vs. Titans Odds and Statistics
Dallas and Tennessee have never met in the postseason and only come up against each other in the regular season, rarely as it is. The biggest win in the fixture was the first-ever match which the Cowboys won by 42 points, but the Titans have had their moments of glory too, winning 31-0 in 2000 to cap off their biggest margin of victory.
The last time they clashed heads, the Titans won again, although the game was far less drastically one-sided, finishing 28-14.
Cowboys vs. Titans 12/29/22 NFL Betting Tips: The Season So Far
Looking at the Cowboys team, it’s hard to see anything other than strengths. Easily one of this season’s most impressive teams, Dallas brings a well-rounded game to the field that makes it hard for opponents to target weaknesses or adapt their game specifically.
The offense did dip slightly when Dak Prescott was forced to miss a run of games with a thumb injury, but even then, they mostly managed and haven’t taken any time to find their top form again now that he’s back in the team.
One slight criticism is that despite already reaching double-digit wins, few of those victories have been rampant hammerings. Being able to win close games is a great attribute to have to go into the postseason but fans may have been able to feel a little more confident if Dallas had run amok when taking the lead more often.
This showed most clearly in the dramatic 27-23 win against the Titans in GW 15, who only has 1 win to their name this season and arguably shouldn’t have been able to make the game such a close contest.
Still, the wins keep coming, and the playoffs beckon.
Going into game week 17 with an even record, you’d be forgiven for thinking that was a misprint if you’ve seen their defense in recent weeks. Unfortunately, things aren’t much better in attack either, and if the form keeps dipping like this, then fans will just be praying for the season to end.
The main factor in their palatable record has been the lack of stern competition in the South, and the Cowboys vs. Titans 12/29/22 fixture sees them face a side with a positive record for only the 5th time this season.
