Chargers vs. Colts 12/26/22 Prediction and Odds
Tuesday night’s game at the Lucas Oil stadium wraps up the Christmas week of fixtures as Chargers vs. Colts 12/26/22 looks to be one of the most intriguing matches of the round.
Chargers vs. Colts 12/26/22 Preview Games and History
These sides go back a long way and have played against each other for years now. They first locked horns in 1970 in a nail-biting fixture as the Colts scraped through with a 16-14 victory in San Diego.
Since then, the two have met slightly more often than once every other year on average, including a couple of post-season games and some all-time classics.
The Chargers have the lion’s share of victories so far, leading the series 19-11, and are also ahead on the total points scored with 717 to the Colts’ 549.
Chargers vs. Colts 12/26/22 Odds and Statistics
These sides have faced off in the postseason three times to date. The first showdown was in 1995 when the Colts comfortably beat the Chargers 35-20 in the playoffs.
Most recently, the result went the same way when the Chargers again went through in the playoffs in 2019. However, it didn’t come easy, and they had to fight deep into overtime, where they eventually wrapped up a 23-17 victory.
In the regular season, the teams have met more recently. The last time was in 2019, when the Chargers again won in overtime, with the score being 30-24 that time around.
The Chargers have had little success in the series as of late, only winning 1 of the last 5. However, that could be about to change in Chargers vs. Colts 12/26/22.
Chargers vs. Colts 12/26/22 NFL Betting Tips: The Season So Far
Chargers
Despite doing relatively well this season and now sitting with a positive record, many Chargers fans have been underwhelmed with the side’s performances this year.
More has generally been expected at both ends of the pitch, but the Chargers never seem to reach the heights people expected at the beginning of the season.
One area that can’t take the blame for the side’s full potential not being reached is the rotating door to the injury room that never seems to stop spinning. LA’s management puts on a tough face and likes to make out that this isn’t a good excuse, but it’ll inevitably impact a team when so many players are missing at different points of the season.
According to reports, the side’s even been forced to field injured players at point, with quarterback Justin Herbert wincing through fractured rib cartilage to put in minutes across multiple game weeks.
Despite the injury, Herbert looks like a star in the making. His passing range has kept fans on the edge of their seats all season. With that said, Mike Williams’ top form at Wide Receiver has certainly made his life easier.
We’d say the odds on this side making it to the playoffs are almost even at this point.
Colts
There is plenty of talent peppered throughout this side, but the glaring holes in the Colts’ offense mean the defense is forced to pick up too much slack. Nevertheless, they provide a solid foundation from which a more threatening front line would benefit greatly.
The 54-19 loss to the Cowboys will likely be remembered as a particularly humiliating moment. Jeff Saturday’s stint as interim coach wasn’t looking great regardless, but that’s a particularly unfortunate patch to leave on the resume as the experiment of him as head coach likely comes to an end soon.

Prediction Chargers vs. Colts 12/26/22
The Chargers should be able to win here, even if they’re still dealing with injuries. A Chargers vs. Colts 12/26/22 faceoff would be much more mismatched if Los Angeles had all of their players fit and ready to go.
