Browns vs. Steelers Prediction and Odds
Fans will be treated to a matchup in the Turnpike Rivalry on the last game week of the regular season as the Browns vs. Steelers 01/08/23 game is played out at the Acrisure Stadium.
Browns vs. Steelers Prediction and Odds
The rivalry between these two sides goes all the way back to 1950, the year in which the Browns beat the Steelers 30-17. Since then, the sides have racked up an impressive 142 meetings, which have generally remained pretty close throughout the years.
To many people, it’s the most important rivalry in American football that’s egged on by a rivalry between Cleveland and Pittsburgh in a greater sense as well the general proximity of the two teams.
The sides have shared a division ever since that first meeting, first battling it out in the Eastern Conference before switching over to the AFC Central in 1970 and then the AFC North from 2002 until the present day. That’s a fair few parts of the US the sides have represented while taking each other on!
Browns vs. Steelers Odds and Statistics
These sides have met in the post-season 3 times, with the first of these coming in 1995, which the Steelers won 29-9, the second coming in 2003, which the Steelers only just scraped through 36-33, and then the Browns finally getting their first win outside of regular season as recently as 2021 when they won a thrilling game 48-37.
The biggest win in the series was a staggering 51-0 victory for the Browns in 1989, who will probably be able to laud that over the Steelers for a long time yet, but Pittsburgh at least knows they have the record for the longest winning streak, which lasted for 12 games between 2003 and 2009. The closest the Browns have got to the record was an 8-game stretch between 1950 and 1953.
The last time these sides played against each other was at the beginning of this season and the Browns came out on top 29-17. It’s safe to assume they’ll be looking for the same result in Browns vs. Steelers 01/08/23.
Browns vs. Steelers NFL Betting Tips: The Season So Far
Browns
Their 6-9 record this season hasn’t been anything to write home about, but the discovery of real talent in wide receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones should be enough to keep Browns fans optimistic about what the future has in hold.
No one in Cleveland is going to be too disappointed in how this season has gone for the Browns anyway, as it was widely agreed from the beginning of the year that this would be a transition season where the team could find its footing again and identify any weak spots that can be cleared up in time for 2023 and loftier heights.
Deshaun looks to have come back into the fold in relatively good shape and the main thing will be ensuring he’s ready to resume football at top speed after the offseason. The chances of the side making the postseason this year have gone, so this match probably provides the last opportunity to iron out creases in a competitive setting.
Steelers
This has been a season of transition for the Steelers too, who looked like a viable playoff contender until recently too, which isn’t a bad showing for a year when you’re looking to the next.
It’s possible to look at it as a disappointment to miss out on the postseason but that wasn’t in anyone’s thoughts in game week 1 so it’s a testament to how well this transition season has gone.
